Poetry.

Somewhere in the dark
A shadow moves 'neath another
Purchase upon tenable ground
Is slowly found
And with the slightest sound
A gasp, perhaps,
And a sigh,
And then a pale light
To cut through the distance
And a means
A purpose
A purchase
Which is to say, direction
Towards that means
Or the result
And somewhere in the dark
A shadow moves 'neath yet another
A different form
A difference found
And the tenable ground
With only the slightest sound
Yields to inevitability
Disappearing down
No, not underground
But above
Where a Dove may be found
Purchasing with pale wings
Against the thin air
Above the ground
A hard way
Perhaps the only way
And yet still in the dark it may sing
For against the coming dawn,
No victory can any bring
Except that which the Dove doth sing.
