Michael J Fox

...apparently didn't take his Parkinsin's medications before going to a Senate hearing on human embryonic stem cell research in order to exaggerate the symptoms of the disease. The idea being that human embryonic stem cells are a sure cache chocked full of cures for every disease...

If you have to lie to support what you advocate... maybe you're advocating lies?

I'm not sure I get this...

He "exaggerated" his symptoms? I didn't realize failure to take the medicine is literally, in one day, making him worse. He showed how bad it could get without medicine, that's all. That's not an exaggeration, that's reality. Is it a shit way of making a point? I suppose, but let's not call it something it is not.

As for the lie, did they ask him if he took them that day? If not, he never lied...he just didn't take them.

Fox's methods for going to bat in this case may be questionable, but truth is they are 100% in line with how every other organization/lobbyist goes to bat when dealing with Congress. Let's watch out in labeling them as "exaggerations" and "lies" though unless there is substantial proof that those two things really did occur.

Agreed. Since posting this I've backed off from thinking it was a lie to thinking it was just horrible appeal to emotion.
